Good day to all you folks back home! So my first few days here in Villaverde were a little bit rough because I was still adjusting to everything but things are going much better now and Elder Costacio are getting along just great in our companionship.
The branch is relatively new I think because most the members here have all been baptized in like the last 10 years or so and there isn't many of them-There was only like 25 people at church yesterday, and lately I have been thinking to myself (because I also read it in Matt Conway's group email last week)--How is such a branch able to function? Why would such few people come back want to come back week after week and continue to enjoy themselves and have good experiences, also considering that about a third of those 25 were noisy, rambunctious children that are under 8 years old...I have concluded that I don't think it would be possible at all UNLESS this was indeed the true church and when those people are attending, they truly are touched by the Spirit and have felt the happiness that can be brought to each of us through the restored gospel.
We call it GhostTown because it is always sooo quiet. We will be walking along the highway in the middle of the day and there is like no people and hardly even any tricys or vehicles passing by. And we can only work until like 6:00 P.M because by that time it is already way dark and everyone is getting ready for bed already....But I like it here. The standards of living don't even seem as high as most other places I've been to but the area is seriously so pretty. And the members are really nice and chill too. There's not a lot of them but I think there is a lot of potential here in Villaverde because the members are actually willing to do their part and help us out with the missionary work. So I think we be ight and I'm excited for the time I have here. Hope y'all have a good week! Peace out!
Picture of the Week: Throwback Thursday (er...Monday I guess) to me and Elder Loitz back in the MTC. He is in Bambang Zone, which is the next zone over and we are currently having a good laugh about this photo. But you know we still be reppin' that PG PRIDE out here in the Philippines! #tbt (I'm sorry I don't have any pictures yet of me and my companion or the meetinghouse where we attend church at. I'll try to get those next week)
